The workers of municipal corporation refused to take watches of cooperation; Chandigarh

The program of distributing wrist watches to the workers of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has been cancelled as the union of cleaning staff has refused to take new watches by threatening Commissioner and Mayor of municipal corporation with hunger strike. The Municipal Corporation has demanded wrist watches due to a contract to make sure the workers to be on time on duty as through the watches, it can be detected that whether they are  present or absent on duty. According to the Information Commissioner of Municipal Corporation has directed the workers to must wear the wrist watch and penalty of 800 rupees will be recovered in case of lost the watch and on the other side the wrist watch supplying company was about to charge 3 lakh rupees per month as rent. The president of Municipal Corporation Cleaning Staff Union Ompal said that the union will not tolerate any kind of dictatorship as it is against their fundamental rights. Secretary Inspector of Municipal Corporation and MOI have been receiving complaints about the absence of  most of the Cleaning workers at fields as by wearing digital watches their location can be traced.
