The

blooded murder of Sarabjit in Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore in Pakistan and
said that an enquiry by International Committee of Red Cross was
imperative to expose the utter Human Right violations in this case.
In
a statement issued here today Sukhbir Singh Badal, President Shiromani
Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab said that "India should push
Pakistan for an independent probe into Sarabjit's death. The way he was
butchered in the jail is a direct violation of human rights.
International Committee of the Red Cross should be involved,".
Lashing
at Congress led UPA Government for its failure to protect the life of
Indian Citizen lodged in Pakistan Jail, Badal said that Congress led
UPA’s weak kneed policies were responsible for cold blooded murder of
Sarabjit. “An earlier decisive and stern diplomatic move could have
saved the life of Indian Citizen,” said Badal. The Party President said
that India should have learnt from countries like USA, who leave no
stone unturned to protect their citizen, whenever they were in problem.
He said that this scam tainted minority government was so engrossed in
its battle for daily survival that they have no concern for the safety
and dignity of their citizens.
Describing
the murder of Sarabjit as most condemnable and heinous crime, Badal
said that whole country was angry with the lame duck attitude of Union
Government. He said that people of country expect the elected Government
to understand its duties and take decisive action against the rogue
country Pakistan. Sharing grief with the bereaved family, Badal said
that whole Punjab Government was standing with the family of Sarabjit in
this hour of grief. He said that jobs for the two daughters of Sarabjit
have already been announced by the Punjab Government and Sarabjit would
be cremated by state honours.
