Chandigarh April 08:
Students
of private schools today held a protest in Ludhiana against the Punjab
government’s decision to impose property tax on schools. Carrying
placards, the students appealed to the government to roll back the
decision as the schools would pass on the burden to their parents who
already paying huge amounts as fees and annual charges.
Students
said it would adversely affect their education and government was
discriminating against private school students. Meanwhile, the private
school authorities have already made it clear that they would not pay
the property tax themselves but charge it from the students.
